As a seasoned network infrastructure administrator, I manage a complex ecosystem of Cisco, Juniper, FortiADC, and AWS CDN technologies. My role involves conducting security audits, applying critical patches, performing system upgrades, and resolving multifaceted issues, including TLS errors and DDoS mitigation. With extensive after-hours support, I’ve honed strategies to streamline operations and prevent burnout. My blog offers practical insights for IT professionals navigating the demands of network management with efficiency and resilience.
Why “Lazy Guy”?
My blog, “Lazy Guy,” reflects a strategic approach to network infrastructure management, emphasizing efficiency, security, and automation. Faced with relentless ticket queues, zero-day vulnerabilities, and late-night outages, I prioritize simplifying complex processes. The term “lazy” signifies a commitment to working smarter, not harder—leveraging scripts, optimized configurations, and automation to streamline tasks like patch rollouts and firewall rule management. This philosophy minimizes manual effort, enhances network reliability, and prevents burnout, delivering practical solutions for IT professionals.
Daily duty
- Security Audits: Digging through logs and configs to prove we’re not a hacker’s playground.
- Vulnerability Patching: Racing to close holes before they’re exploited, often on a tight deadline.
- Infrastructure Upgrades: Swapping out gear or tweaking fabric-EVPN without breaking everything.
- Troubleshooting: A thousand fires—think FortiADC TLS tantrums or AWS routing hiccups—usually when I’m off the clock.
